Q - Why did you start filming weddings and events?

A - I have a passion for the film arts and wanted to offer a creative new way of
looking at these services along with making professional video production more
accessible. Being able to transform a client’s memories into a cinematic lasting
keepsake that will take them back to that day over and over again gives me great
      pride in what I do.

Q - Do I really need to hire a professional videographer?

A - If you want a video that documents your wedding or event that will stand the
test of time, I would say yes. There are many factors to filming a live event
which must be performed correctly the first time. Years of experience and
professional equipment will ease your concerns and produce a higher quality
finished product. Also couples that don’t end up getting a video to at least
document the day, often regret it years down the road.

Q - How will the filming process actually look?

A - With Cinematic Moments, I prefer a non-intrusive documentarian filmmaking
approach so that I am able to capture all the action virtually unnoticed. I love
when clients tell me, “We didn’t even notice you” or “We barely noticed you
were even there”. Also, our cameras are equipped with long-range wide-angle
lenses which assist in this important objective in keeping our distance.

Q - What are the features that are included with every wedding package?

A - With every package you get a full ceremony documentary film complete with
custom titles and credits. Professional cameras capture the action including
coverage of the location, grounds, guests and important scenery as well.
Wireless & wired microphones are setup to record the audio from your big day
too. Once your wedding has been filmed, it enters a professional post-
production workflow utilizing Apple’s Final Cut Studio. All editing is done on
Apple systems with Final Cut Pro to produce the highest level of quality from
start to finish. Color correction and audio enhancement are also included if
needed depending on the location. High resolution compression & authoring for
DVD including customized menus and chapters preserves your day and allows
you to relive it with a push of a button. And every film is presented in a full
DVD package including a personalized full color disc and insert.

Q - How do I secure a date for service?

A - Please contact us to check on the availability of your date. If we are available, a
deposit of 50% of your invoiced amount is required to secure your date for
service and to begin work on the post-production process after the filming is
      completed.

Q - When is the remaining invoiced amount due?

A - The remaining 20% of the invoiced amount is due the week of service and the
final 30% is due upon review of your DVD screener copy.
Q - How does the proofing process work?

A - All projects come with one proof to make sure you get the best possible
film tailored for you. Once your DVD screener copy is ready, we will ship it out
for you to review for any typos or small changes you would like to be made
prior to final duplication. The remaining 20% of the invoiced amount is also due
at this time. Once approved and the final payment has been received, the final
copies will be made and shipped out.

Q - What types of cameras does your company use?

A - We currently use professional high-resolution Panasonic 3CCD cameras that
have a special way of capturing video that is more like that of film. This process
is called 24P and is described below. Our cameras also have wide-angle lenses
which shoot widescreen video footage that is capable of viewing a much larger
area than standard cameras. A wealth of other pro features make these cameras
an excellent tool in the field.

Q - What does 24P mean?

A - It means 24 frames per second progressive. Film & video are just photographs
being taken at intervals of time to simulate movement. Video runs at 30 Fps
interlaced and film runs at 24 Fps progressive, which is just one factor why the
two formats look so different. Due to technological breakthroughs in the film &
video industry, professional cameras are now available that allow 24 Fps digital
video capture like that of film. All films produced by Cinematic Moments are
shot in 24P to emulate the warmth & quality of film as much as possible.

Q - How many cameras should I reserve for my date?

A - Having more than one camera covering the action makes sure you see the events
unfold from multiple angles so that you won’t miss a thing, and provides the
most cinematic feel. However, depending on your needs you can still get an
amazing cinematic treasure with only one camera and upgrading your package
with selected highlight films of your coverage.

Q - What other type of equipment is used?

A - Apple hardware and software is at the heart of this company and makes sure
that the best possible resources are available to finish your project. Final Cut
Studio, including Final Cut Pro and DVD Studio Pro, is one of the most
important tools at my disposal for post-production. For wireless audio, I rely on
Sennheiser lavalier microphones to capture it right the first time. Sachtler &
Manfrotto tripods ensure smooth and subtle camera pans and tilts as well. I also
pride myself in keeping up on the latest news & technology in the industry.

Q - How long will the finished film be?

A - The final length depends on certain factors like coverage and upgrades and can
range anywhere from 35 minutes for a basic package to 2 hours with several
upgrades. But on average, about an hour.
Q - What exactly is a highlight film?

A - The highlight film is a condensed cinematic montage of a longer event uniquely
edited to music of your choosing with elegantly placed effects, dialogue and
custom titles. Most couples consider the cinematic highlights version priceless
and wish to show it to their friends constantly...while the full length version is
used as more of a documentary of the event. Please check the sample footage for
      some examples of the highlights.

Q - What types of effects are used?

A - There are a number of elegant special effects that you can choose from. Black &
white, sepia, slow motion, old film and a dreamy haze are just a few examples.
For weddings, these effects are primarily used for the highlights. Examples of
these effects can be seen in action by viewing some of our sample footage.

Q - What type of lighting equipment is used?

A - No lighting equipment is used for weddings and events as I feel it distracts from
the overall event. For corporate & freelance work, a 3 piece Lowel lighting kit
      will be used.

Q - How is the audio recorded for a wedding or event?

A - Professional wireless lavalier & wired shotgun microphones are used to capture
all the important dialogue. During a wedding ceremony, both the groom & the
officiant are fitted with small wireless microphones that can easily be concealed.
These microphones are sensitive enough to pick up the bride as well without
having to deal with trying to conceal wires on the dress. A high sensitivity
camera shock-mounted microphone is also used to help reinforcement the sound
of the room or location. Windscreens are used on all microphones to help diffuse
wind & harsh frequencies out of the signal as well. The audio is then monitored
with studio-grade headphones to make sure every last word is captured with
      clarity.

Q - How will the final DVD copies be presented?

A - The final copies of your film will look like they belong in your DVD collection.
Professionally designed inserts and discs that are customized with your images
& titles to showcase your wedding, event or other project. All film projects come
with full-size DVD cases as well as full color high-resolution printing.

Q - What is your turnaround time to finish the film?

A - I pride myself in making magic happen on the screen, to make everyone feel like
they are there again. And since I give my full attention to the film at hand and
my client, only one project is edited at a time to maintain continuity and quality.
Typically, it takes anywhere from 1 to 2 months for the screener copy to be ready
after your date of service. Peak periods may take longer but you will be updated
regularly on the progress of your project as well.
Q - Who will be filming my video?

A - The owner & operator, Nicholas Harley, films all projects with the assistance of
select experienced local filmmakers. We pride ourselves on professionalism and
make it our priority to balance getting the shot while still being able to blend in.
Formal attire will be worn by all our cinematographers.

Q - What is usually captured during the pre-ceremony footage?

A - The pre-ceremony coverage can offer beautiful moments of the bride, groom,
bridal party and family. Usual activities include: photo shoots, hair & makeup,
opening gifts, 1st meeting, preparation and the tension leading up to the big
      moment.

Q - Can you describe a love story film?

A - A love story is a unique documentary film that retraces the roots of your love by
interviewing friends, family and you. Some examples of topics are: where you first
met, places you first dated, the first “l love you”, interesting details about the
proposal and other stories. These interviews are edited together with footage of
the places where you first met and dated as well as photos from your past.
Sentimental music is also used to score the film. For more emotional impact, there
is an option to include old video footage as well into the film.
